Installation at McMichael Canadian art Collection

Beginning in May 2021 I began to retreat from my home in Hamilton, Ontario to the woods of Algonquin Park and Lake Calabogie. While hiking, I focused on individual forest trees and created a series of vibrant and penetrating gouache studies as a response to climate change and species loss. I had planned to use them as studies for large scale paintings, but alas, an auto-immune disorder set in and I was not able to do the large paintings. Undaunted, I decided to print them on large fabric banners. I began planning using a scale model of the space. Sublime Rage was curated by Jessica Bradley and guided by Chief Curator, Sarah Milroy. There are 33 banners, hung back to back in the gallery space and several on the yellow walls. The exhibition includes a vitrine with several of the gouache originals.
